The Chapter Titles Were So Good
For those of you who grew up with aughties-era Potter-mania, this will be a nostalgic trip (everyone else, we admit, should probably skip ahead). Three young men revisit the world of J. K. Rowling's quite popular series by reading all seven books chronologically and recording their observations; each 20-minute-ish episode covers one chapter. There is a strong whiff of fandom in this - they refer to the author familiarly as 'Jo' and exhibit fluency in matters of canon - but their take is refreshingly lackadaisical and they're more than willing to poke fun at the material (a trait surprisingly lacking in most podcasts about a boy wizard attending magical boarding school). Episodes are stuffed with in-jokes that will make your dried-up adult heart sing with recognition, and illustrated with audio effects that lend a pleasing surreality to proceedings.
Books 5 through 7 should be available in your podcast app (the last ever episode just aired this week), with the rest procurable via the show archive.
