In Strangers, host and producer Lea Tau's intimate brand of storytelling draws us close to all kinds of people - a young man who is going blind, and ashamed to admit it; a woman who is giving away a kidney; survivors of an attack in the Empire State Building; a sex surrogate. In revealing themselves to Tau, and by extension to us, these strangers no longer seem strange. In a series called Love Hurts, we are even granted passage into Tau's own complicated love life, and she makes herself so vulnerable that, even at our safe distance, we feel frightened for her, and hurt on her behalf, and full of tenderness for her wounded heart.
Strangers is so replete with sincerity, and so beautifully executed, that it would be close to impossible not to like it. New half-hour to hour-long episodes every two weeks.
