The brainchild of producers Mira Burt-Wintonick and Cristal Duhaime, veterans of CBC's late and much beloved WireTap, and hosted by the award-winning Lu Olkowski, Love Me is a gorgeous, experimental, deftly executed trip through the powerful vessels of the heart. Each sonically-rich episode features a range of eclectic stories, from true personal accounts (the experience of falling in love without a shared language; a son grappling with his father's suicide) to radio drama (a Blind Date-style game show featuring a woman's id, ego and superego). In the wrong hands, the collision of this material might feel disorienting - but these are the right hands, steady and strong. No matter the turns it takes, we trust that Love Me knows where it's going, which just leaves us to enjoy the ride.
Season 1, featuring eight 30-minute episodes, is complete.
