Last Best Stories
In each instalment of this podcast, The University of Montana School of Journalism's Jule Banville (formerly of WNYC) introduces us to two stories - one longer, one shorter - from independent producers, some of whom are current or former students. The stories are all connected, in one way or another, to the state of Montana, also known as 'the last, best place'. But if you're expecting a parade of Cormac McCarthy-esque mountains and cowboys and strong-but-silent-horizon-staring, don't - the connection is often an incidental one and the tale is nearly always universal. We fell hard, for example, for the love story of local garage pop girl-band Needlecraft. Episodes are brief (a quarter-hour); queue 'em up for a Sunday morning.
