This independent British podcast, a collaboration between a photographer and a radio producer, is reminiscent of This is Actually Happening - it takes strangers as its subject, and sets their anonymous first-person accounts in atmospheric soundscapes. These audio portraits vary wildly in length, according to the subjects' preference, and each is accompanied by a vivid photograph. Subjects to date have included a 65-year-old man, whose young wife left him as soon as she acquired a visa; voters, post-Brexit; a dyslexic kid whose mother struggles with illness. These strangers are pretty ordinary and that's entirely the point. We are reminded that in each ordinary life, there are moment of extraordinary pain and passion; that wisdom breeds in all of us; that we are more alike, inside our own heads, than we imagine. For those revelations, this is one to be heard. New episodes every week or so.
