This sonically lovely podcast from Jonathan Hirsch is about the tipping points that change our direction, and how they transform us. The stories differ, and stay the same - they are always personal, vividly told in the subjects' own voices, and set amid Hirsch's skilfully rendered soundscapes. A couple attempt to navigate a world where their baby isn't; a woman loses her husband; a plane crashes. They're sad sometimes, but in that good, special way, the way that makes us feel tenderness for each other and our shared experience of being human. Hirsch stands modestly by throughout, allowing each story to speak for itself.
We could carry on like this, our prose growing ever more purple, but really you've just got to hear it. Episodes run around 20 minutes, every other week. Listen for an effect of transportation.
