A Wrinkle in Time
From Radio New Zealand, this six-part documentary series addresses one of humanity's most scary shared realities: specifically, the fact that we are all ageing, every minute, and will keep doing so until we eventually die. Most of us don't like to dwell on this uncomfortable truth, but this series dives headlong into our fundamental fears and misunderstandings about growing older. Featuring the perspectives of everyday people aged 4 to 100, as well as scientists, doctors and other invested experts, it examines our desire to control the ageing process; our inter-generational prejudices; the experience of physical helplessness and memory loss; and - of course - the mystery of death. These difficult questions are approached with curiosity and directness and, though occasionally heavy, the sum of the whole is a salve for existential panic. The entire series is available now.
