Our cups are lately overflowing with high-quality radio drama, and among the flood, we commend to you this entertaining space romp. Communications Officer Doug Eiffel is stuck on a boring research space station, orbiting a boring star, with nowt but a stick-in-the-mud commander, an unhinged scientist, and a sarcastic on-board operating system for company. He is supposed to be listening for alien life, but the odds of a hit are slim, and he's a lazy employee at the best of times. When we join Eiffel, and the rest of this motley crew, their mission aboard the U.S.S. Hephaestus Station is a year and a half old; so far, they've established an uneasy co-existence and a bad case of ennui. But not all is as it seems. There are mysterious whispers out there in space, and sometimes inside the station. They are carrying strange cargo and receiving cryptic messages. And not everyone's orders for this mission are the same. It's fun and funny, sometimes dark, and increasingly gripping. Episodes run around 15 minutes.
