Missing Maura Murray

Missing Maura Murray

College student Maura disappeared in 2004 after a mysterious car accident and no trace has been seen or heard of her since. In the ensuing years, an online community of amateur sleuths, conspiracy theorists and trolls has formed up around the case, producing a constant stream of conflicting information and debate. The hosts of this conversational podcast, Lance Reenstierna and Tim Pilleri, initially set out to produce a documentary about the people who are obsessed with Maura, and in the process have become fascinated by the case, which is full of strange coincidences and gaps. This show is the result of their digging through the available information and theories - including the events leading up to Maura’s disappearance and her (slightly chequered) personal history - in an attempt to understand a woman who, 11 years on, remains an enigma.

The conversation is loose, even rambling at times, but compelling for all that - we often found ourselves hitting next when we ought to have been doing something else. There are 18 episodes available to date; start at the start, and buckle in for a weird ride.

Gateway episodes: Ep 1: Introduction (16 Jul 2015) / Ep 3: The Scorpion (30 Jul 2015) / Ep 5: The Crash, Memory, Odds (13 Aug 2015)
