Missing and Murdered: Who Killed Alberta Williams?

Missing and Murdered: Who Killed Alberta Williams?

We keep saying that we've reached the threshold of our tolerance for true crime podcasts. Then something comes along to impress and immerse us and all our plans for laying off the hard stuff evaporate. Take, for example, this intelligent offering from CBC, which has had us gripped us for weeks. Indigenous reporter Connie Walker investigates the unsolved death of another Indigenous woman, decades earlier. Like Curtain, Missing and Murdered's angle on Indigenous justice - this time in Canada, rather than Australia - sets it apart from your average pretty-dead-girl narrative. It spotlights the way in which cases involving Indigenous women have been neglected and contextualises Alberta's unsolved murder by exploring the historical trauma borne by Indigenous communities. It feels like Walker could really solve this one and she is dogged in pursuit of answers.
