How to Colour Cats

How to Colour Cats

We've been charmed by this little indie podcast. Melbourne-based musicians Dan and Tony are two parts of a newish band called Colouring Cats and they're giving this whole music thing their best shot. But the process of trying to get the band off the ground, let alone to a point of objective success, is less about booze and groupies than it is the hard graft of making art: tolerating a day job; hanging on to band members; writing songs that are actually good. In these regular, funny, actually pretty organised half-hour conversations, the two cover a lot of ground - the perils of procrastination, Paul Simon v Bob Dylan, intolerable parking tickets, the getting of gigs, and always being poor, among other items of interest - and there's some real jeopardy here, namely, whether Colouring Cats is actually going to make it. Good company for artists of any stripe, but especially the struggling kind (like there's really any other).
