In a week that saw New Zealand endure yet another high-magnitude earthquake, this is pertinent listening from the CBC, presented by reporter and seismologist Johanna Wagstaffe. We didn't realise that the west coast of Canada was so exposed to earthquake risk, but apparently it's a matter of when, rather than if, for the people of British Columbia, and a terrifyingly-named "mega-thrust" is looming. In this series of five episodes, Wagstaffe walks us through the events that are likely to unfold in the hours and days following an earthquake, hypothesising about scenarios that might emerge and offering sound advice and science in each case. Grimly fascinating stuff.
