Shows like this one are what is heartening about the true crime boom. In this independent podcast, produced with the support of the Brisbane Indigenous Media Association, we hear the story of Kevin "Curtain" Henry, an Aboriginal man accused of a brutal 1992 murder. The story unfolds both as a true crime serial in the classic mode, and as a larger reckoning of an underreported social justice issue, namely the wrongful convictions of Indigenous people in this country. It is co-presented by Amy McQuire, a journalist, and Martin Hodgson, Senior Advocate for the Foreign Prisoner Support Service. Episodes so far have sketched out the key locations attached to the crime, the timeline of events leading up to and following the murder, and introduced the cast of characters. We recommend skipping the introductory episode and leaping straight in at 'The Investigation Begins'.
